Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

In plain language, BCP is how an organization prepares for future incidents that could jeopardise the organisation's core mission and its long-term health. Incidents include local incidents like building fires, regional incidents like earthquakes, or national incidents like pandemic illnesses.

In practice BCP requires an interdisciplinary investigative methodology to create and validate a logistical plan for how an organisation will recover and restore partially or completely interrupted critical function(s) within a predetermined time after a disaster or extended disruption. Some aspects of the resulting Business Continuity Plan will normally cover IT architecture and operations, whilst others will focus on business process or other areas of operations.

Thinking Cap is experienced at facilitating and leading such exercises.
